Roasted Cauli Steak
Recipe:
CAULIFLOWER STEAKS
Makes 4-6
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cauliflower head
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp turmeric
- 1 tsp Himalayan salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Optional extras: zhoug pasta, harissa paste or shawarma spice
METHOD
1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC and line a baking tray with baking paper
2. Cut the cauliflower into long strips lengthwise - cut enough to serve one per person. Place the cauliflower steaks on the prepared baking sheet.
3. Whisk the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, red pepper flakes, turmeric, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl. Add any optional extras in here too for even more flavour. Brush 1/2 of the olive oil mixture over the tops of the cauliflower steaks.
4. Roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes then turn over, brush with the remaining half of the oil mixture and roast for a further 15 minutes.
